Expansion of DME Asia-Pacific Rim

The new year of 2023 has been bright. Over the past 3 years, we have come to accept many changes as we live in this era due to COVID-19.

The most frequent changes have been felt by the skin of abnormal temperatures and climate change in our real lives according to changes in the four seasons, and countries are calling for the need for carbon neutrality in terms of the environment as decarbonization society has become an issue. 

In addition, the Ukraine-Russia war has raised prices for most energy sources, as well as the need for energy security and energy diversification, which has become an urgent issue not only in developed countries but also in many developing countries.

As a result, most developed countries as well as Korea have been asked to change the paradigm of all industries due to "decarbonization and carbon neutrality," and it is an era where sustainable energy, clean environment, health, hygiene, food, agriculture, and digital culture are organically cooperating.

DME, a low-carbon, eco-friendly fuel and chemical, is manufactured from collected CO₂ or biogas, so it is reported that mixing with LPG as a recycling chemical reduces carbon dioxide by more than 50%, and demonstration projects are underway in Europe and the United States. 

In the era of carbon neutrality, the business of distributing DME, a low-carbon fuel, has entered a period of introduction into the market in terms of energy diversification, which is very important at this time. Recently, it has been expanding its use to e-Fuel, a carbon-neutral circulating fuel, in order to apply it as a fuel for mobility (automobile, ship, etc.) at home and abroad. 

The association will cooperate to expand and distribute DME, a low-carbon energy, not only in Korea but also in Asia and the Pacific region, and continue to cooperate with domestic and foreign energy associations and institutions to grow it as a low-carbon energy source.
