[Newspaper]DME produced in Korea opens export route to Japan

Japan-Korea DME Forum agreed on principles in Tokyo on the 4th

The 'Korea-Japan DME Forum' jointly hosted by the Korea DME Association (President Wonjun Cho) and the Japan DME Association was successfully held at the Kanda Seminar Room in Tokyo, Japan on the 4th. This event was made possible with the active support of Korea's Biofriends Inc. and Japan's Taiyo Petroleum Gas Co., Ltd.


At the DME Korea Association, eight people, including Chairman Cho Won-joon and Vice Chairman Yang Young-geun and Cho Won-jae, attended, while at the DME Japan Association, 21 people, including Chairman Haruhiko Rikuta, attended to present detailed status of DME projects between the two countries.

President Wonjun Cho said in a greeting, "For the past two years, direct exchanges between the DME industries have been difficult due to COVID-19, and I am glad and glad that this forum has served as an opportunity to strengthen mutual cooperation."He then introduced the operation status of Bio Friends' DME 1 and 2 plants, focusing on handouts and PPT data that he had prepared, and explained his vision in the future.

Chairman Haruhiko said, "We warmly welcome the precious people of the Korean DME industry who visited Japan during a busy schedule, and we hope that today's event will further strengthen the exchange and cooperation business between the Korean and Japanese DME is currently produced by Mitsubishi Group for aerosols, foaming agents, and refrigerants.

He continued, "We have been actively reviewing the diversification of supply lines due to monopoly and geographical issues, and Daeyang Liquefied Gas has completed all quality inspections to import about 3,000 tons of DME per year from Biofriends in Korea."

Meanwhile, Japanese participants continued to ask and answer questions with keen interest about mixing DME in the LPG fuel market with a special process of making green methanol with CO₂ collected from a cement plant currently promoted by BioFriends.
